The floods affecting millions

Monsoon rains in Pakistan have caused devastating floods that have “killed more than 1,600 people, forcing 2 million from their homes and disrupting the lives of about 14 million people, or 8% of the population,” reports the Guardian. According to The Times, “most flood victims…say they were given no warnings and no assistance by the government.”

In an interview with the BBC Radio 4, Syed Adil Gilani, Chair of Transparency International Pakistan, raises concerns that flood prevention projects have been undermined by corruption.
